NASBA Session Requirements
We will be issuing Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits to attendees that have a CPA or equivalent. To meet the Standards, set by NASBA in the revised August 2016 Statement of Standards Handbook, presenters must include the following three elements.
(1) Include the level of experience your session is targeting towards:
Basics – 0 – 2 years
Intermediate – 2-5 years
Advanced – 5 and above
Update – Regulation, Tax or compliance updates
(2) Please add two to three learning objectives that attendees will take away from the session. Keep in mind that our session evaluations include a question on whether the learning objectives were met.
(3) Per the Standards, a group live program must include at least one element of engagement related to course content during each credit of CPE. The instructor or facilitator plays a key role in leading and guiding the engagement. Engagement activities could include:
A group discussion
Polling questions
Instructor-posed question with period of reflection
Use of a case study
Learning by using games or simulations
Q and A section with presenter having three prepared canned questions for the audience

Title: Technology, Compliance, and Customer Service
Presenter: John Doe, Vice President, Customer Service Inc.
Prerequisites: 2 to 5 years in the Bursar Office
Program Level: Intermediate - Builds on Basic Bursars Principles
Session Description
The best technology that allows you to be compliant may not always be the best process to provide great customer service. This session will look at how you weigh compliance, technology, and service so the pieces fit together to create the picture you want for your operation.
Session Learning Objectives
Develop or improve compliant business office processes
Create awareness of potential compliance issues with your institution
Provide training and information on compliance for staff
This session will conclude with a group discussion and Q and A session.
